Implementation Of CAMPCOPTER On L’adroit
In the field of UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), Naval Group has integrated several types of drones: heavy, light, rotary-wing (helicopters) or fixed-wing (small aeroplanes) and on different types of ships: frigate, patrol vessel, helicopter carrier.
For example: the Camcopter® S100 from Schiebel (200 kg), the UMELB from Boeing (2 tonnes), the IT180 from ECA (30 kg) and the VSR700 from Airbus (750 kg) the DVF 2000 from Survey Copter.
For all these integrations, Naval Group has developed solutions that are now sea proven and dedicated to handling, storage and supplying, automatic landing and end-to-end management of the mission: mission planning, real-time integration of the mission and the data with regard to the payload in the combat management system (CMS), restitution of the mission.
Naval Group was the first in Europe:
- To carry out several automatic take-offs and landings with the UMELB drone from Boeing from a La Fayette frigate in 2012;
- To obtain a permit to fly from the Directorate General of armaments (DGA) to connect a UAS to CMS Polaris® on the offshore patrol vessel L’Adroit.
